Dept o~Natu al R~ouroe
The Siegrist Construction .Company of Denver has made an application to
both the Weld County Commissioners and the Mined Land Reclamation Board of
the State of Colorado fora permit to mine sand and gravel from an area that
is adjacent to your ditch in the NW Quarter of Section 2, T2N, R68W. This is
part of the former Adler property. The application will be heard by the Weld
County Commissioners at 2:00 p.m. on April 14, 1982 while the application will
be heard by the Mined Land Reclamation Board on May 26-27, 1982.
The staff of the Mined Land Reclamation has suggested that our operation
may affect the flow of water in your ditch and that we should contact you to
inform you of our activities. We do intend to dewater the areas of excavation
during the mining process.
Please be assured that it is not our intent to damage any operations and
that instead it is our desire to take those steps necessary to avoid damage.
We assure you that if any loss of flow in your ditch should occur due to our
operation, we will provide a Bentonite liner or other suitable sealant in your
ditch, and/or schedule our operations to eliminate the need for dewatering in
the vicinity of your ditch during the irrigation season while water is in your
ditch.
We will meet with you and your board at a convenient time to discuss these
matters if you believe such discussion is necessary.
Respectfully,
NELSON ENGINEERS
Lavern C.
