The material excavated from the site and placed in the Equipment Storage area will be returned to the site. It is
anticipated the material will be dozed back to the site and sloped to conform with the approved post mining
• topography. The plant growth material will be returned to the site and seeded.
The fan and power poles will be removed from the property and placed in the appropriate landfill.
Preparation Plant Powerline
When the preparation plant powerline is no longer needed, it will be dismantled and removed from the site.
Preparation Plant Waterline
When the preparation plant waterline is no longer needed, the surface portion of the waterline, pumphouse and
power line will be dismantled and removed from the site.
Preparation Plant Building, Thickener Tank and Refuse Bin
When the structures are no longer required they will be dismantled and either removed from the site or crushed and
buried in the portal area. It is anticipated that the later option will be exercised unless the building material can be
salvaged and recycled. The piers associated with the structures will be excavated to three feet below final grade,
removed and placed in the pit and covered during the backfilling of the pit. The reclamation bond addressed the
worst case of demolishing the building and removing it from the site.
Batch Weigh/loadout System
Reclamation of the batch weigh system coal stockpile area, conveyor areas and batch weigh/loadout building site will
• be accomplished according to the existing Reclamation Time Table (Table 52) in Permit C-82-056. All structures will
be removed from the site, with the exception of the reclaim tunnel. Concrete foundation materials will either be
disposed of in the reclaim tunnel or transported to the portal highwall cut and buried. That portion ofthe reclaim tunnel
which is above grade will be broken up. That portion of the reclaim tunnel which is below grade will have the roof
broken up to a depth of approximately three feet, the tunnel will be filled with the broken up tunnel materials and
overburden materials, and the tunnel will then be abandoned in place.
Reclamation of the batch weigh system coal stockpile site will involve reconfiguring the site in order to reestablish
premining contours. During construction of the batch weigh loadout system facilities, fill material may be removed
from the site for use in the realignment of CR 27. In order to reestablish premining contours, TCC will replace an
equivalent volume of material at the batch weigh loadout system site during final reclamation. The replacement
material will consist of spoil obtained during regrading operations in the area south of the existing portals and
associated facilities at the Foidel Creek Mine. The volume of replacement material potentially required (maximum
12,000 cubic yards) will have no discernible impact on the final regrade configuration proposed for the source area
described. After respreading the cover materials, topsoil will be respread. Calculations indicate that 2500 cubic yards
of topsoil salvaged from the site will be respread. The respread topsoil will be prepared for seeding and will be seeded
according to the approved reclamation plan for similar adjacent areas. Post-mining topography for the area will
approximate that shown on Volume 6 Map No. 31.
No. 7 North Escape Shaft
When the facility is no longer required, the hole will be plugged, the site graded, topsoiled, and revegetated. A number
of steps will be required to abandon the shaft. These include removal of surface structures, demolition of concrete
foundation and piers and sealing of shaft. After the surface structure is removed the broken up foundation and piers will
be put down the shaft. Upon completion of this work decking will be suspended in [he shaft 10 feet below grade. The
• support beams and decking will be suspended from the steel casing by steel straps (i.e. I-beams or similar support
TR 02- 40 2.05-105 2/19/02
