On November 2 I accompanied you on a field <br /> reconnaissance of the area. ? , <br /> She area to be mined in delineated on the enclosed soil sap from the <br /> Pueblo Area Survey. <br /> Most of the area is located on Lae Animas fine sandy loan soil. (see <br /> attached soil description) Parts of the area were used for irrigated <br /> agriculture in the past, before the water rights were sold. Vegetation t, <br /> cpnsists mostly of annual weeds including kochia and Russian thistle. ��• <br /> • Some of the area supports trees including cottonwood, Russian olive f,•; <br /> and temarink. <br /> Since the mining plan is to remove all useable material within the area, ''ki,.N{ <br /> a lake will be formed. Following are recommendations for your clamation '"ta <br /> t <br /> plans !4E:i C., <br /> 1. The slopes should be no steeper than 3s1. <br /> 2. The top six to twelve inches of soil should be stockpiled an it <br /> is relatively free from roots and cobbles. <br /> 3. After the gravel has been remo ed, the area should be smoo ed to <br /> establish final grades. Six in Ghee of topsoil should be over ahed across <br /> all disturbed area above the high water line to form a smooth, irm seed- <br /> bed. <br /> 4.
