• EXHIBIT G
WATER INFORMATION
The sand and gravel operation will have minimal affec on surface or
ground water systems in the affected area.
There are no tributary water courses, wells, springs, stock ponds,
reservoirs, or ditches on the affected lands. The Ar ansas River,
however, passes directly along the southern boundary f the permit
area. A 30—ft wide (top width) natural embankment wi 1 be maintained
between the River and the gravel removal operation.
The bearing aggregate is within the Arkansas River aq ifer.
No dewatering operations will occur. The pit will be maintained as a
closed system with no discharge. As such, no NPDES p rmit will be
necessary. All runoff from disturbed areas, stockpil s, and operating
areas will report to the pit area.
Water requirements for the operation will be only that which is
required for dust suppression on the haul road (estim ted to be 2 ,000
gallons per day on 190 days/year) . This water will be delivered by
the water truck from the company's main plant area.
• Evaporation losses resulting from the remaining lake (3.2 acre feet
per surface acre) will be covered by the unused water rights of the
Pueblo Pit (MLRD Permit 78-123) and Well No. W-163 .
•
