I have rated the
Deserado Sediment DP-1 dam as being in Satisfactory wndition, Recommended
maintenance is listed on page two of my report.
The information you provided as to the extent of land awned by Western Fuels
Assoc. downstream of the dam, indicates this dam can be reclatisified tD a Class 4 hazard
rating. A Class 4 dam definition is'no damage off the ownets property if it failed'. A
memo will be transmitted to the State Engineer for his approval of a harerd classification
change for this dam. As the Dam Safety program in Colorado regularly inspects only
Class I, 2 and 3 dams, this dam will not be scheduled for inspection by this office unless
requested by the owner.
Also enclosed is an application form for a 4Votice of Intent to Construct a
Nonjurisdictional dam'. If you have any questions about the report or the notice form,
please feel free to give me a call at 879-0272 or 879-5096.
Sincerely,
uo
Sally' .Lewis, P.E.
Asst.
