' ABSTRACT
Commercial Testing and Engineering, Co. (CT&E) conducted a two species acute bioassay on
' the West Fork of Sylvester Gulch effluent discharge. This discharge has been designated as
outfall 017. The purpose of this bioassay was to determine if the facility complies with the WET
portion of the Colorado State Permit System Authorization to Discharge. The test organisms
' utilized were the fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) and the daphnid (Daphnia magna).
Test results indicate that the effluent was not acutely toxic to either species. Therefore,
Mountain Coal Company outfall 017 effluent is in compliance with the acute WET portion of its
' Colorado State Discharge Permit for the first quarter of 2001.
1

1

1
CI

COMMERCIAL TESTING & ENGINEERING CO.
F-466 L1~
Original Watermarketl Far Your Protection r ~a,
