The
rock outcrop that is actually to be mined is only 1.8 acres in extent
and will be mined sporadically on a contract basis. Thus, mining of the
granite will be highly discontinuous in nature. There is no doubt,
However, that some noise will be generated by the operation when mining
is occurring.
Finally, on October 25, 1982, the Mined Land Reclamation Board approved
the limited impact permit application. The operator has submitted his
performance warranty and $S,000.DO financial warranty for this operation
to our Division, and these warranties have been approved. Upon verification
from the Bureau of Land Management that the sales contract for the granite
has been finalized, our Division will issue the permit in this matter.
I suggest that you remain in contact with the Bureau of Land Management and
with Mr. Rodney Banks of Teller County concerning this matter. Please be
advised, also, that our Division staff will monitor the mining operation
on an ongoing basis. Please feel free to contact me in this matter. if I
can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Mark S. Loye
Senior Reclamation Specialist
MSL/eap
cc: Mr. Marvin E.
