and stored topsoil will then be redistributed over the disturbed
• area. All regrading activities will be accomplished utilizing
either a dozer or a backhoe/loader.
7. Drill site cleanup and seed bed preparation. The areas
azound each drill hole will be policed and all trash and debris
removed and hauled to the Raton Creek Mines for disposal. Any
remaining drill cuttings which are exposed will then be spread
over the site so they aze unnoticeable. Finally, the disturbed
ground surface at each site will be ecazified in order to provide
a good seed bed. The estimated area of disturbance for each
drill site is approximately 40 feet by 100 feet or 0.1 acres per
site. Total drill site disturbance will be approximately 1.1
acres.
8. Access road rehabilitation: Those azeas where road work
is necessary to access drill sites will, upon cessation of use,
be regraded to their approximate original shape. Topsoil will
then be replaced and the surface prepazed for needing. All other
existing roads sad areas where only grubbing is necessary for
drill site access will require ao rehabilitation or reclamation
work. Following is a list of drill site access roads which will
require road work, and their approximate azeas of disturbance:
Drill Site Access Size of Disturbed Disturbed
Trail Area (f t.) Acreage
• R-2 300 x 25 0.17
R-3 300 x 25 0.17
R-4 900 x 25 0.52
R-5 200 x 25 0.11
R-9 900 x 25 0.52
R-10 300 x 25 0.17
R-11 800 x 25 0.46
Total 3700 x 25
2.12 acres
Please note that although road work ie not expected for the
entire length of the proposed drill trails shown on Exhibit 1,
1988-9 Drill Site Location i[ap, for the purposes of this request,
the entire length wan used to calculate disturbed areas. Also
please note that two ppoossible routes aze shown for access to site
R-4. Only one will be used. The longer route C900 ft.) was
utilized in calculating disturbance.
9. Revegetation: Immediately after seed bed preparation is
completed at each disturbed area, it will be broadcast needed
utilizing the following seed mix:
•
