previously disturbed, an accurate accounting of these areas would be helpful since final
reclamation of these areas will likely be less successful than areas that have yet to be
disturbed. As a result, when final bond release is requested, it will be evident to the
personnel conducting the release inspection that a certain percentage of land was
previously disturbed and may not achieve equivalent results to those areas that have not
been disturbed.
6.4.4 EXHIBIT D - Minine Plan
Please identify how much topsoil will be salvaged during each state of the operation and
how this material will be handled and reserved so that it can be used during reclamation.
6.4.5 EXHIBIT E -Reclamation Plan
As discussed during the pre-operation inspection, the landowner is utilizing a sizeable
portion of the previously disturbed azea as awinter-feeding area for cattle. Appazently he
intends to continue doing this during mining and once reclamation is completed. This is
an acceptable post-mining land use but the area should be clearly identified so as not to
confuse it with areas that will be fully revegetated as part of the reclamation process since
revegetation in this area will be neazly impossible to achieve. This should be included in
the text of the reclamation plan as well as clearly delineated on the reclamation plan map.
The proposed seed mix for this site needs to be revised significantly and should contain
more warm season species appropriately suited for this location instead of a mix
containing predominately cool season species more dependent on higher precipitation.
Some of the species that could or should be included are Blue grama, Sideoats grama,
Western wheatgrass, Buffalo grass, Galleta, Sand dropseed, Needle and thread, etc.
These species are much more suited to the environment that currently exists at the site.
6.4.6 EXHIBIT F -Reclamation Plan Maa
Clearly identify and delineate the azea that will be used to facilitate livestock feeding on
the reclamation plan map.
6.4.7 EXHIBIT G -Water Information
This Section is adequate as submitted.
6.4.8 EXHIBIT H -Wildlife Information
This Section is adequate as submitted.
6.4.9 EXHIBIT I -Soils Information
This Section is adequate as submitted.
