The establishment of a new conveyor and loadout facility will eliminate a
substantial volume of daily truck coal haul traffic on State Highway 133.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will issue an access permit for the
temporary access road necessary to construct the mainline rail switch. CDOT will also
issue a utility permit for the enclosed conveyor passing over old S.H. 133. Both permits
must be applied for and issued Dursuant to current CDOT regulations. We have reviewed
the excavation near old S.H. 133 necessary for relocation of the mainline track and other
work to be performed within 100 feet of the CDOT right of way. CDOT has no objection to
this work and finds it permissible for the mine permit boundary to be within 100 feet of the
CDOT right of way.
Sincerely,
~ ~~
,Transportation Region 3
cc: Perske
Allen
• Nall
file
P~e-6
A PPRovE.9
fl f 5 /02.
