Changes or additions to the previous site/property description(s)
This site was recorded as a sparse open lithic scatter consisting of 17 pieces
of debitage and a projectile point/knife fragment (Travis 1994). Current
investigations confirm the sparse nature of the artifact scatter. The site is
located near the base of a slope just above the floodplain. A prepared field is
above the site and this field is connected to the floodplain pasture by a strip
which was cleared of brush and plowed just east of the site (Figure 5). A large
wooden gate is lying on the surface in front of the plowed strip south of the two-
track. Based on the projectile point/knife fragment collected in 1992, the site may
• date to the Middle Archaic.
The site was initially plotted on the edge of the proposed impact area near
the proposed haul road and the BLM requested that the location be confirmed. The
initial plot appears to have been incorrect and the current investigations have
determined that the site is definitely out of the proposed impact area. Although
the site datum was found lying on the south side of the two-track, the site was
