Definitions: <br />When [he terms listed below are used in this subdivision, they <br />are intended to convey the following meanings: <br /> <br />"Grading Area" is that area within which earth grades are shown <br />Lo be changed. Remainder of property is to be left undisturhed, <br />except as otherwise authorized for such purposes as temporary or <br />permanent spoil, or stockpile areas, temporary ditches, swales, <br />and/or haul or access roads, in which case such authorized areas <br />become part of grading area. <br />"Subgrade" is a finish earth grade forming the support for other <br />materials and work thereover. <br />• "Finish Load Bearinz Subgrade" is a smooth surface compacted to <br />specified density as verified by the Laboratory and ready to <br />immediately support the specified structure. <br />"Rough Subgrade" is a reasonably smooth surface. <br />"Site Subgrades" are Subgrades to support earthworks, e.g. <br />embankments, topsoil, riprap, or aggregate topping. <br />"Load Bearing Subgrades" are Subgrades to support structures, <br />e.g. foundations, slabs on grade, road bases or pipes, <br />"Site Excavation" or "Site Fill" is earthwork necessary [o <br />produce site subgrades, <br />"Load Bearing Excavation" or "Load Bearing Fi11" is earthwork <br />!• necessary to provide load bearing subgradc-s. <br />S-3 <br /> <br />
