- the reconstructed slopes are 2.SH:1.OV, which is mild for a small pond with a height
less than 10 feet.
- there are no weak spots in the original ground or springs or seeps which could
interfere with stability.
- the principal spillway has been properly compacted so that piping will not occur.
- the dam has been constructed in lifts with proper compaction as the independent data
shows..
13) Dam Heieht
The dam height as measured from the bottom of the original ground to the bottom of
the emergency spillway is 9.9 feet. for this reason, the dam does not meet the large
impoundment criteria of Rule 4.05.9(3), the State Engineer's Office or C.R.S. 37-87-
105.
14) Pictures
The pictures on the following pages show the pond as it exists at this time. The
attached inspection sheet covers other items related to the ongoing performance of the
pond and summarizes the past, current and expected future conditions of the pond.
15) Certification I certify that the sediment pond at the Rimrock Mine has been
constructed according to the plans and is functioning well and that prudent state-of-the-
art engineering has been employed and the dam is sound, with no current
environmental threats or construction & maintenance problems. I do not believe that
this pond will have maintenance issues given the performance over the past 10 years.
~O~P@K CE~'S~9 v,~///J//f,
tC;; `4~0 F~jrii;~ f~~y~~~Lf~K
:~ ~• ~/~ V
•~' 2U336 ~i r
q: :~, 7'G3/0.5
.•
o~FSS%pNA~~NG`~
