<br />RULE 6.4.7 EXHIBIT G -Water Information <br />7. The applicant will need to commit to securing Division approval of a a spill containment and <br />countermeasures plan to be implemented in the event of leaks or spills of any alluvial- <br />groundwatercontaminants prior to excavation at the site. The plan should be provided either <br />prior to the application decision date or may be submitted as a technical revision to the permit <br />prior to site disturbance. The plan will need to include notification procedures to be followed in <br />[he event of a spill or leak. The plan will also need to describe the measures to be taken both in <br />the event of large spills and also housekeeping measures to be applied in the event of minor <br />leakage or spills. <br />8. The applicant will need [o clazify how stormwater will be managed in and around the proposed <br />mining operation, (ie: Wil! the applicant install any temporary or permanent structures? Will the <br />applicant employ any Best Management Practices (BMP's) to minimize sedimentation of <br />exposed alluvial-groundwater?) Any such features should be described and should be shown on <br />a revised copy of Exhibit C or a Water Features Map as specified in Rule 6.4.3(f). <br />9. The applicant has indicated that all mine areas aze expected [o require dewatering and has <br />committed to obtaining an approved National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Sys[em (NPDES) <br />permit from the Water Quality Control Division prior to any offsite discharge. As a matter of <br />courtesy, the Division requests that the applicant provide a copy of the approved NPDES permit <br />when available. Please respond. <br />
