Thus far the data show that the opera- <br />. tion has not resulted in diminution of the quality of the alluvial water or <br />the surface flow downstream. <br />Disturbed areas will be backfilled after mining sucn that the upper 12 <br />inches of soils will be constituted of unconsolidated soil which will act to <br />hold water and allow it to percolate into the lower bedrock. There will be no <br />' special consideration given to placement of backfilled materials since there <br />are no underground aquifers in the mining area.
