2,05.6(2) Fish and Iildlife Plan
The Rockcastle Company asked the Colorado Division of Cildlife
for assistance is establishing a wildlife mitigation plan (see
enclosed correspondence). No response has been received. There-
fore, only present mitigation measures will be implemented.
Present mitigation measures include a maximum speed limit of
30 mph within the permit boundary and prohibition of use of
_firearms within the permit area. Timely revegetation of re-
claimed areas is also recognized as an important wildlife
mitigation plan and this practice will continue.
No rare, threatened, or endangered animal or plant species have
been observed in the permit area. Further, no bald or golden
eagle nests occur within the permit area or are known within a
one-mile radius of the permit boundary.
• There are no electric power lines or other transmission facilities
used for or incidental to the coal mining operations. Proposed
haul road locations lie generally in a north-south direction and
are not expected to impede big game movement through the area.
C~
2-35 V-2
