Muskingum Routing Parameters. K. X •
The Muskingum Routing Parameters were also calculated using the SCS upland method. All
hydraulic lengths, drainage heights and slopes were measured directly from a 1" = 500' map, with a
contour interval of 10 feet. The values calculated between each junction and/or subwatershed are
shown on the SEDCAD+ printouts.
Curve Number. CN
Curve numbers (CN) were approximated based on hydrologic soil type, as well as type and amount
of ground cover. Curve numbers were obtained from Technical Release No. 55 (USDA-SCS, 1986).
Based on soil type and vegetation cover, the following curve numbers were determined for the
following conditions.
Disturbed
Soil Type: B
Ground Cover Type: Newly Graded
Ground Cover: Bare
CN: 86
Undisturbed
Soil Type: C •
Ground Cover Type: Sage Brush
Ground Cover: Fair
CN: 63
Undisturbed
Soil Type: D
Ground Cover Type: Sage Brush
Ground Cover: Fair
CN: 70
Reclaimed Areas
Soil Type: B
Ground Cover Type: Herbaceous
Ground Cover: Good
CN: 62

TR-36 7-12-4 Revised 09/04
