1~6 <br />1996 PERMIT RENEWAL <br />• At the beginning of the 1991 to 1996 permit #erm, the mine produced coal and shipped it <br />to a power plant in Nucla, Colorado. During calendar years 1991 and 1992; 193,954 tons and <br />7,913 tons of coal were produced, respectively. Since that time, no coal has been produced <br />from the mine. <br />Environmental monitoring, maintenance and permitting issues have been kept current <br />during the permit term. All requirements of the Division of Minerals and Geology were complied <br />with and required information was submitted in a timely manner. <br />A Surface Water Management Plan was submitted to the Colorado Department of Health <br />on November 25, 1992. The plan was compiled and adopted on July 6, 1993. Annual reports <br />were submitted for 1993, 1994, and 1995. Re-application for the permit was submitted to the <br />• Department on February 8, 1996. <br />Application for renewal of Colorado Wastewater Discharge Permit, CO-0038342 ,was <br />submitted to the Department of Health on August 17, 1994. After administrative extension of <br />the permit, the permit was renewed effective April 1, 1996. <br />Revised Air Pollution Emission Notices were submitted to the Colorado Department of <br />Health on December 4, 1992. The emission permit was approved initially on August 18, 1993 <br />and Fnal Approval was issued September 13, 1994. <br />Note that the 1992 transfer of ownership and succession of operator and LMU formation <br />also occurred during this permit term. <br />• q~-~ ~/E W <br />~ Volume 1 4~29~96 <br />
