•
SUMMARY
McNULTY PIT
i
The pit is located approximately 17.5 miles south and east of Glenwood
l Springs and 15.5 miles south and west pf Gypsum on an unpaved county
road known as the "Cottonwood Pass" road, also located at the head of
Cattle Creek.
J The pit is a deposit of volcanic cinder laying on the surface of the base
of a mountain. The depth and size of material varies but is estimated to
be in excess of 50 feet deep within the limits of our optioned area.
~ The material is excavated and fed through screening or crushing equipment
and placed in the stockpile area. The material is used by other city
and county agencies for sanding icy road conditions.
-Reclamation will consist of contouring the excavated areas as there worked
out to blend with the surrounding terrain. The slopes will be left
rough and will be seeded and reclaimed as best as possible. The floor of
the pit will be graded to drain with the natural drainage and all waste
piles will be smoothed Lo blend with the floor and the pit. The haul
road also services the owners storage area and will not require any
rehabilitation. The operation is planned to be a long term operation
and reclamation will be completed as areas are worked out.
