Box 2107
Grand Junction, Colorado 81501
Dear Sirs:
I have reviewed the area to be used as a gravel pit on the McNulty
land. This information is located on the Leon Photo 2117.
The soils are 156E, 17J+E, 28D, 28E and 156C. These soil descriptions
are attached with an overlay map of the area.
It will be necessary to store the top soil removed to get to the urd.er-
lying gravel. Such grasses as crested wheat or intermediate wheat
grass and a wide variety of other grasses will grow here. Shrubs will
also do well.
Grass planting should be done in the fall (approx. 1 Oct.) and slopes
should not exceed 2:1. Mulching would help keep the grass in place.
Shrubs would need to be hand planted.
If you need more information, please contact the Soil Conservation
Service, Box 880, Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Telephone 945-5494.
Sincerely,
Stanle Wood`y-a~
District Conservationist
SW/te
Attach.
0
