'..- <br />WILDLIFE STATEMENT <br />' The. following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for <br />use by the Mined Land Reclamation Board in their consideration of <br />' a mining permit for The John A. McNulty Pit of the Colorado <br />Department of Highways (Pumice for road sanding) <br />The Colorado Division of wildlife does hereby find, to the best of <br />our knowledge, that the impact of the proposed mining operation on <br />wildlife will be <br />XXX <br />Mine Location: <br />minor <br />moderate <br />major <br />NW4 NE4 59, T7S, R87W <br />Wildlife Species List: (may be attached) <br />Species normal to sagebrush-oak plant community including inter- <br />mediate and sucw„er range for mule deer and winter range for elk. <br />Endangered Species Impacted: <br />NONE APPARENT <br />Assessment of Impact on Wildlife: (may be attached) <br />Pit is currently active and vegetation damage has already occured. <br />If left in its present condition, the damage to the pit area will <br />be permanent. <br />Reclamation Recommendations: (may be attached) <br />1. All remaining topsoil should be stockpiled. <br />2. Depleted areas of the pit should be regraded to match surrounding <br />terrain and covered with topsoil. <br />3. These areas should be reseeded and replanted with naT.ive grasses <br />and shrubs. <br />4. Until these plantings have re-established themselves the area <br />should be fenced against livestock use. <br />5.
