EASTSIDE MINE <br />Garfield County, Colorado <br />Quarterly Sediment Pond Inspection <br />On August 31, 2001 an inspection of the sediment pond, Sediment Pond SP-1, located at <br />the Eastside Mine, Eastside Coal Company, Incorporated, Garfield County, Colorado was <br />conducted. <br />This inspection satisfies the requirement of Rule 4.05.06(11)(b) of the Colorado Mined <br />Land Reclamation Board. <br />During the inspection, the sediment pond was examined for any visible cracking or other <br />_ _ _deformation of the embankment and any areas where seepage was_observed._ No_visible_ _ _ <br />cracking or deformation was noted. No erosion around the spillway or the embankment was <br />observed.. <br />There was no sediment except for a minor amount at the inlet in the pond at the time of <br />inspection. This sediment is a result of discharging the mine water into the pond during active <br />mining. The pond is dry. <br />
