A culvert runs the
-60 yard distance from the pond outlet to the flume, where sampling occurs. On Feb. 19,
a relatively recently-installed HDPE water line broke, causing sediment to wash into the
culvert and through the sampling point. The cause of the break is unknown, but they
suspect faulty installation, possibly a weld failure. !` is under investigation.
Written Report to Follow: Yes
Comment: Feb. 13 and March 4 samples showed compliance. The "Upset" was not
reported earlier because the association was not made and the impact of the line break
not known until sample results were received and reviewed.
, ....
Recorded By: Kathleen Sullivan
Date: March 21, 1996
cc- Kent Gorham, DMG
District Engineer, Field Support Section
Original to MS-3 File
