These exceedences are discussed in the attached
October 31 and November 14 letters. A sample collected on
November 12 indicates that the water quality from this site has
improved considerably (the TSS value was only 22 mg/1, see
attached lab report). The clean out of this pond was finished on
December 1. No discharges have occurred since then.
Please also note that the WET test DMR's for Sites 002, 003, and
006 have remarks on them pertaining to incorrect sampling
frequencies. The correct frequencies are found on Page 14 of the
Rationale section of our permit. These are the frequencies that
we historically complied with. The frequencies stated in Part I,
Page 14 (of the actual permit) are incorrect. I talked to Son
Kubic of your Division (he was the permit writer) today and he
agreed with me that the frequencies stated in the Rationale
section are the correct ones. He stated that he will be sending
out corrections shortly.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely, "~`~
~~•~~
Dennis Jones
Hydrologist I
Seneca Coal Company • P.O.
