Southwestern B~rCI"~~ Vegetation Analysis
Ecological }~ l.iC V Wetland Ecology
Services ~ Land Rehabilitation Planning
AR 2 ~ L~OL /®/ Photodocumentation

37 East Colorado Avenue Denver, Colorado 80210-3105 (303)
March 22, 2002
Al Amundsen Fax with Mail Followup
Division of Minerals and Geology
Room 215
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Withdrawal of Technical Revision for Coal Creek Sand Resource `'~
Permit M-1988-044 ~"
Deaz Mr. Amundsen:
Fax 1303) 778-8937
On March 13, 2002, a technical revision was submitted for this operation, in behalf of my client, Schmidt
Construction Company. As was decided yesterday, the technical revision approach to resolving the difficulties
at this operation is not appropriate. The necessary changes, it was agreed, would require an amendment. You
requested that the technical revision be withdrawn so credit of the fee could be applied to the amendment when
that is submitted. It is therefore requested that the technical revision be withdrawn from further consideration.
Please note, however, that much of the information contained in that revision will form a foundation for the
amendment, in addition to some other changes in the permit as discussed yesterday with yourself and Jim
Stevens. With respect to the amendment, the intent is to have it submitted no later than April 19. Because the
amendment does not involve a great deal of work, it will most likely be submitted before that date. I will keep
you informed of progress.
Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please call.
i'
r
Sincerely,
~~ ~~
Mark A. Heffner
CC: SCOtt DaV13
Don Opheim
