4-BO <br />The potential productivity is 900 to 500 pounds of air-dry <br />vegetation in favorable and unfavorable years, respectively. <br />This map unit is in capability unit VIw (dryland), foothills <br />Swale range site.7 <br />4.7.4.9 Map Unit: TRDE - Torriorthents - Rock <br />Complex, 15 to 65 Percent Slopes <br />This map unit is on moderately sloping to extremely steep <br />mountain slopes and canyon bluffs. The slope is 15 to 65 <br />percent. The vegetation is mainly a juniper-woodland commun- <br />ity. At higher elevations, this map unit occurs in a mountain <br />shrubland community. <br />This map unit is about 20 percent rock outcrops, 30 percent <br />• Lithic Torriorthents, 45 percent moderately deep and deep, <br />loamy-skeletal and sandy-skeletal Torriorthents, and about <br />5 percent moderately deep and deep, loamy and coarse-loamy <br />Ustic Haplargids. <br />The Lithic Torriorthents are physically and chemically similar <br />to the Rentsac very gravelly loam (Sample point MU 8). The <br />deeper soils are physically and chemically similar to the Nihill <br />loam (sample point MC3 in McClane Canyon permit area) and are <br />mapped separately where possible. The Nihill soils occur in the <br />draws on less steep slopes. Rock outcrops include vertical <br />7Range site established in Rio Blanco County. <br />• <br />
