26,2002 -2- 003-2203
The repair work on the ESP consisted of repairing holes in the pond 80-mil HDPE liner.
That occurred during the installation of the High Volume Solution Collection System during
the spring of 2002. Figure I shows the location of the repairs on the 80-mil HDPE
geomembrane. As an added protective measure, CC&V elected to install an 80-mil LLDPE
(single-sided textured) geomembrane liner over the entire pond bottom. Figure 1 presents a
panel layout for the 80-mil LLDPE liner. The edges of the LLDPE geomembrane were
extrusion welded to the pond HDPE liner. The LLDPE to HDPE extrusion welds were tested
and found to have a strength equal to or greater than the 80-mil LLDPE geomembrane.
If you have any questions or comments regazding the repair of the ESP liner, please contact
me at (303) 980-0540.
Sincerely,
GOLDER ASSOCIATES INC.
John F.
