There are a total of 13 sedimentation ponds
classified as impoundments that require certification. The
designs for these ponds are shown in Appendix B and Technical
Revision No. 1 of the Somerset Mine Permit (NO. C-81-022).
To the best of my knowledge, these 13 ponds are in a stable
and well maintained condition. The decant and overflow pipes
appear to be in good working order. Pond embankments appear
stable and have ample vegetation to control erosion and
prevent any surface cracks or slides.
To the best of my knowledge, these impoundments are
structurally sound and stable.
Sincer y,
--- ~~C de Sorrell, P.E.
- ~ ~ Vice President - Engineering
\ ~`;
.- -•CIB/klk
