RECLAD9ATION REPORT
General
Our company's reclamation of mined lands will provide a basic
level of rehabilitation. This includes grading, drainage and
grass seeding. Any improvements beyond this basic level would
be made with due regard for the ultimate land use ownership
and economics.
Land Use
At this site the reclamation plan calls for backfilling, grading,
topsoiling and seeding the 96 acres of mined land in the I-
Industrial zoned parcel. The land may eventually be suitable
for development but reclamation calls for immediate return of the
land to pasture. About 48 acres of mined land zoned agriculture
will also be suitable for use as open space. The historic
Rigden house will be preserved.
Grading
Reclamation will proceed concurrently with mi:ing. The land :;ill
be backfilled and graded. The 2.5 acre lake in the northern part
of the site will have an irregular shoreline to entrance wi:diife
habitat and waterline slopes of less than 3:1 grades. All slopes
will conform to Mined Land Reclamation Act standards and Larimer
County Standards calling for 4:1 grades; gradients will be con-
ducive to vegetation, erosion prevention and safety. Overburden
will be used to return as much land south of the railroad as
possible to contours necessary to meet development standards.
E-1
