.~
.~
1/21/97
-2-
notified of MCC's plans to discharge to the river. Barbe stated
that the inflows will be sampled in an attempt to determine age of
water, and to determine whether the inflow waters are tributary
waters.
I advised MCC that we will not recommend any action that might
jeopardize the safety of crews, and that our first concern is
stabilizing the situation from a safety perspective. I also advised
that MCC should do whatever is necessary to safely stabilize the
inflows, and to document all actions. I stated that we will need to
assess the long term implication of this situation, but short term
stabilization must take priority. Barbe agreed to contact us daily,
and possibly twice per day with status reports. MCC will also
provide a detailed report to DMG and WQCD as soon as possible.
