2-27
Coal waste may be generated from the operation in the form of coal fines and other material
(high-ash coaly material) scraped up from the coal yard azea. This material will be stored at the
temporary pile adjacent to the coal product stockpile. This material will be blended and shipped
with the product when possible. A plan for permanent disposal, off site, of high-ash coaly material
is currently being formulated and will be handled as a technical revision. The technical revision
addressing all applicable provisions of 2.05.3(8), and 4.10 will be submitted no later than August 1, 2002.
The operator has also obtained approval from the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA)
to dispose of non coal rock slope material in areas of the mine that are no longer actively producing
coal.
All non-coal waste generated is disposed of with a commercial trash company. The trash is
typically stored in a dumpster on site and the picked and hauled to a disposal facility by the trash
company. During periods when the mine is idle, the limited amount of trash generated is
sometimes collected and hauled to a waste disposal facility by the operator.
McClane Volume 1 June, 2002
77Z I I
