Issues regarding the effect of mining activities on groundwater levels are
addressed by the Colorado Division ofMinerals and Geology, rather than the Water Quality Conso! Division. The Division has
contacted the Division ojMinerals and Geology so that they may appropriately address the citizen's concerns. Based on a field
inspection conducted by the Water Quality Control Division staff, there were no operational issues that would prevent renewal of
this general CDPS dischargepermit. It is the Divisions determinarion that no changes to the generalpermit are needed to address
this situation, and therefore, no changes were made to the permit
August 18, 2001
