The Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology submitted adequacy review comments to the applicant on April 13, 2000
and April 20, 2000. The information and discussion below addresses each comment as it was
presented by the Division.
Response to Mr. Allen Sorenson Comments Submitted oo Apri113, 2000:
Comments 1 and 2
The applicant agrees with the complete liner installation cost estimates provided in Comment 1.
However, the applicant will be performing reclamation and liner installation during the mining
operation. Since it is intended that the liner design will achieve Slate Engineer design standards,
the applicant wishes to use a cost estimate for the repair or replacement of 20 percent of the
proposed liner in Exhibit L. In support of the liner design and lower cost estimate provided for
contingency bonding, Attachment A provides a typical design drawing and specifications in
addition to construction and quality assurance/quality control plans for the installation of a sealed
liner.
Comment 3
Individual logs from drilling operations were not readily available. However, an evaluation
report of the gravel resource is provided in Attachment B. The evaluation provides field and
laboratory testing results from five exploratory bore holes. Please note that this attachment is
marked confidential under Rule 1.3.
1 1990 Grant St. • Suite 304 • Denver, CO 80233 5441 Boeing Drive • Suite 200 • Loveland, CO 80538-8855
(303) 452-6611 • Fax (303) 452-2759 (970) 461-9884 • Fax (970) 613-1177
