Box 177 <br />Silverton, Colorado 81433 <br />Re: Compliance Inspection of Wastewater Treatment Facilities <br />for the Sunnyside Gold Mine -Terry Tunnel, COPS Permit No. CO-0036056, <br />Siiverton, San Juan County, Colorado. <br />Dear Mr. Perino: <br />The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment -Water Quality Control Division <br />("WQCD") Durango District Office conducted a routine compliance inspection of the wastewater <br />treatment facility ("W WTF") for the Sunnyside Goid Mine-Terry Tunnel on September 26, 2002. <br />Participants of the inspection included Larry Perino (Sunnyside Gold) and Gregory Brand <br />(WQCD-Durango). EnGosed is a copy of the inspection report for your records. <br />During the inspection, the following items were noted and need to be brought to your attention: <br />No deficiencies and no problems were noted during the inspection. <br />2. in 2000, a second bulkhead was constructedlinstalfed in the Teny Tunnel. The Terry <br />Tunnel was then sealed. Reclamation at this site is basically complete, with the <br />exception of waiting for re-vegetation to take and for the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology to release the site. No discharge of wastewater was occurrirtg during, t e <br />time of ins ems. <br />3. in late 2002 or early 2003, Sunnyside Gold anticipates requesting "Termination of this <br />Colorado Wastewater Discharge Permit" (COPS Permit No. CO-0036056). <br />The WQCD-Durango District Office concurs that this discharge permit can be terminated. <br />A formal response to this inspection letter is ~qt required from the Sunnyside Gold Corporation. <br />
