Dear Mr. Perino:
The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment -Water Quality Control Division
("WQCD") Durango District Office conducted a routine compliance inspection of the wastewater
treatment facility ("W WTF") for the Sunnyside Goid Mine-Terry Tunnel on September 26, 2002.
Participants of the inspection included Larry Perino (Sunnyside Gold) and Gregory Brand
(WQCD-Durango). EnGosed is a copy of the inspection report for your records.
During the inspection, the following items were noted and need to be brought to your attention:
No deficiencies and no problems were noted during the inspection.
2. in 2000, a second bulkhead was constructedlinstalfed in the Teny Tunnel. The Terry
Tunnel was then sealed. Reclamation at this site is basically complete, with the
exception of waiting for re-vegetation to take and for the Colorado Division of Minerals
and Geology to release the site. No discharge of wastewater was occurrirtg during, t e
time of ins ems.
3. in late 2002 or early 2003, Sunnyside Gold anticipates requesting "Termination of this
Colorado Wastewater Discharge Permit" (COPS Permit No. CO-0036056).
The WQCD-Durango District Office concurs that this discharge permit can be terminated.
