I have
several questions and comments that I have organized on an exhibit -
by - exhibit basis below. Any exhibits or parts thereof not mentioned
are considered adequate at this time. Please note that your file
number has been changed to 81-121.
~~Exhibit A
Please clarify the legal description of the site. This should be
to the nearest quarter quarter section.
Exhibits B and C
yd61..The topsoil stockpiles should be seeded with a perennial grass
~\ ~ ~Q cover crop for purposes of stabilization (such as Western
5` o wheatgrass at a broadcast rate of 6.0 lbs PLS/acre).
A clearer map of the affected land is needed. This map
should be of a large enough ~SCale to show locations df ,r
topsoil stock es, fixed equipment areas, ditchs and/or ^`" n e
A P car E '1
erms to act as sediment control structures for Brackett
J~,~Creek, the location of this creek in relation to the proposed
~NU x -operation, the extent of the proposed pit and the direction of
. mining, directly adjacent landowners, potential land fill
locations, any haul roads constructed in connection with the
~~ ~`"a operation and any other permanent features of the operation.
~~'\ x3. What is the depth of the deposit to be mined, and what will
1 2q~ be the slopes of the working face?
~~le~\~~~i. How much material is to be removed per year, and what is the
1 //o~~~~estimated timetable of mining?
r' S. The connection between the Lincoln-DeVOre Testing Laboratory
Report and this operation is not clear. In this regard,
several questions come to mind:
e 3~) Whiclt of the soil types mentioned are found on the
'' . P site to be mined?
o~i) Are drainage control measures discussed in the report
~ to be implemented during mining?
~) From the discussion, it seems that some areas to be
mined are below the water table, thus resulting in a
b~~ P~~'wet, rather than a dry pit. Please clarify this
\ ituation.
So-'e ~~ d) f,Nrom the discussion, it seems that Fome of the topsoil
~v~; I I
