Calculation <br />6.1 Calculate the unconfined comprtssive strength of the <br />specimen by dividing the maximum load carried by the <br />specimen during the test by the cross-sectional area calcu- <br />lated and express the result to the nearest 10 psi (68.9 kPa). <br />7. Report <br />7.1 The report should include the following: <br />7.1.1 Source of sample including project name and loca- <br />tion, and, if known, storage rnvironment. The location is <br />frequently specified in terms of the borehole number and <br />depth of spixamen from collar of hole. <br />7.1.2 Physical description of sample including rock type; <br />location and orientation of apparent weakness planes, bed- <br />ding planes, and schisotosity, large includons or inhomo- <br />geneitits, if any. <br />7.1.3 Date of sampling cad testing. <br />7.1.4 Spiximea diameter and length, conformance with <br />dimensional requiremenu (see Note 4). <br />7:1.5 Rate of loading or deformation rate. <br />r7.1.6 General indication of moisture condition of sample <br />at time of test such az as-received, saturated, laboratory air <br />dry, or even dry. It is recommended that the moisture <br />condition be more precisely determined when possible and <br />reported az either water content or degree of saturation. <br />7.1.7 Unconfined compressive strength for each specimen <br />az calculated average unconfined compressive strength of all <br />specimens tested, standard deviation or coefficient of varia- <br />tion. <br />7.1.8 Type and location of failure.
