This letter summarizes <br />our findings, and our inspection report is enclosed. <br />Bowie No. 1 and Bowie No. 1 West Mines are inactive facilities. Wastewater is generated from <br />stonnwater control. <br />Wastewater dischazges from these facilities aze regulated under CDPS Permit #CO-0033685. There <br />are six permitted outfalls. <br />• Outfa11001 is for the domestic wastewater treatment plant at the No. 1 Mine. The plant was <br />removed in the Fall of 2001, and this outfall is inactive. It is located at 38° 54.26 north, 107° <br />37.06 west. <br />• Outfa11002 is a settling pond for surface runoff from the No. 1 Mine. This outfall has not <br />discharged in the past 2 yeazs. Outfall 002 is located at 38° 54.05 north, 107° 36.88 west. <br />• Outfa11003 is a settling pond for surface runoff from the parking lot of the No. 1 Mine, and <br />the effluent from Outfa11001. This outfall has not discharged in the past 2 years. Outfa11003 <br />is located at 38° 53.94 north, 107° 37.30 west. <br />• Outfa11004 is a settling pond for surface runoff from the No. 1 Mine coal storage azea. This <br />outfall has not discharged in the past 2 years. Outfall 004 is located at 38° 54.13 north, 107° <br />36.98 west. <br />• Outfall 005 is a settling pond for train loadout along Highway 92. This outfall has not <br />dischazged in the past 2 yeazs.
