Lorencito Canyon Deep Mine <br />Notice of Intent to Conduct Coal Exploration <br />Drill-hole depths are anticipated to range from 80-200 feet. Water monitoring wells and <br />past exploration in @re area indicate that no aquifers will be encountered as a result of this <br />project. <br />Where no aquifers arc encountered, cuttings will be used to backfill the drill bolt. If <br />aquifers are encountered, the drill hole will be sealed with a special bentonite based and <br />water mixed sealant that is non-hardening and non-cracking to a minimum Icvel of fifty <br />feet above the aquifer horizon. Each hole will be filled to a depth of ten feet below the <br />surface with a cement plug to a minimum of three feet blow the sm~lacc grade. <br />fart II-Item 6 <br />A list of threatened and endangered fauna within the county is lound in Exhibit C.
