Box 2679
Colorado Springs, CO 80901-2679
Dear Bill:
°y ~ -`~/ ply to : 2820
~,, Date: August 14, 1987
,' X06 24 ]981
`~ RECEIVED .
This memo is a followup to your and Hike Ward's visit of August I1, 1987, to
the Hubbard Creek upper ventilation fan site.
Our letter of April 24, 1986, to Jay Smaldone outlined requirements for
reclamation (copy attached).
During the meeting on Tuesday, several adjustments to requirements in the
April 24, 1986, letter were discussed and agreed upon. I will reiterate the
requirements by keying them to the seven points of the April 24, 198b, letter:
1. Same as April 24, 1986.
2. Modify so that pad for Forest land remains intact to use as parking
area/trailhead.
• 3. No backsloping of fill slopes required as area has revegetated. The
old road will close itself, therefore, no work is necessary on it.
4. Same as April 24, 1986, letter or l1LRD requirement if necessary. ,
5. Same as April 24, 1906, letter.
6. Insure that new road drains properly.
7. Same as April 24, 1986,
In addition, we discussed the sediment pond reclamation, and decided to take
care of this per MLRD requirements since a minor portion of the pond is on the
Forest.
An additional requirement which was discussed briefly is that of access right;,
through the Kaiser portion of the pad so that public access to the parking area -~
will be assured. This is a necessary part of the program or the existing pad
can serve no useful purpose.
Bill, we appreciate your concern in getting this area reclaimed
questions, please don't hesitate to call Mike blard.
• Sire
STEVEt: L.
