• 1l 333 which has an accuracy of ±0.1 grams. All production samples will he retained
until the Division's review process is complete.
Species Diversity:
Multiple hit data (first, second, third...) were collected in the baseline and
reference areas to serve as a guide for determining a suitable species diversity success
standard. Whereas absolute cover values were calculated based on first hit data only,
relative cover calculations were based on multiple hit data.
Threatened aad Eadaagered Species:
Prior to sampling, the Colorado Natural Heritage Program was contacted to
determine if any threatened or endangered plant species were known to exist in or
around the proposed area of disturbance. Their response indicated that three species,
Penstemon retrorsus, Cirsium perplexans, and Penstemon mensarum, were thought to
occur in the area or nearby. During reconnaissance and sampling, the site and adjacent
areas were searched for threatened or endangered plant species, with special attention
given to the possible existence of the above species. The site was purposely visited in
early May and again in late August with the intent of searching for endangered species
that may not have been flowering during the specific sampling period. Specimens of
the three species held at the University of Colorado herbarium were reviewed prior to
the beginning of field work. No threatened or endangered species were found on the
permit area or the surrounding area.

5
