MINED LAND ~LDLIFE STATEMENT/EVALUATIOi~ (Revised) <br />for limited impact and select regular mine applications <br />The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for <br />use by Mined Land Reclamation Board in their consideration of a <br />mining permit for: <br />Kiowa County - FERRIS PIT T. 165., R. S1W., Sec. 28., NW4 NE,'--, <br />Name/Type and Location of Mine (Legal) <br />Wildlife Species List: <br />Pronghorn, muledeer, coyote, swift fox, badger, cottontail, jackrabbits and <br />small rodents- Raptors including Swainson, rough-legged, ferruginous, harrier <br />and red-tailed hawks, occassional golden eagle- dove and various songbirds. <br />Endangered/Critical Species/Impacted: <br />possibly golden eagle <br />Critical Habitats/Vegetative Communities Impacted: <br />Shortgrass prairie <br />Assessment of Impact: <br />Although impacts should be minimal (the grassland appears to be heavily grazed) <br />this is the second pit in the same i and the impacts could become "cummulative". <br />to the wildlife species listed. <br />Mine P.eclamation Reccmmendatio:.s (include kev species/habitats for <br />which restoration is designed): <br />Native grasses should be used for re-seeding (grams, wheat & bluegrass). <br />Life of mine? mine should be reclamed in sections as it has been used, also <br />if the other mine to the East is finished then reclamation should begin to <br />recover the range area. <br />Preparcad By: <br />Submitted By: <br />Date r <br />Date: ~~ -~,° '-qr <br />This statement is void if snot processed within 1 year. <br />This analysis does not constitute approval of application. <br />
