LLC (Peetz) <br />Plant species found on site <br />~~ ~ l~oav <br />~a~ <br />tP <br />This report deals with a proposed rock quarry site on the Peetz ranch in extreme southeastern <br />Fremont County. <br />The 40 acre tract being considered is the SW4 SE4 of Sec 24, T20S - R68W 6`s PM. Native rock <br />for landscape uses will be mined from the Ft Hays and Codell formations. This inventory of <br />existing native plants is needed to plan for post-mining reclamation.. <br />Native plants found on site 6/18/02. <br />Grasses -Little bluestem, sideoats grams, blue grams, hairy grams (on gravel areas), ring <br />muhley (Muhlenbergia), sand dropseed, and red three-awn. Other grasses such as <br />needleandthread, and bottlebrush squirreltail are probably present though now unseen. <br />Forbs - Cryptantha, skeleton weed, dwarf vetch, locos and several composites. No doubt many <br />other forbs aze present though now not seen due to severe drought conditions this year. <br />Shrubs and trees -Broom snakeweed, buckwheat brush, Bigelow sage, skunkbush sumac, four <br />wing saltbush, hop tree, prickly peaz and cholla cacti and scattered one seed juniper aze among <br />the plants present. <br />CONSERVATION -DEVELOPMENT- SELF-GOVERNMENT <br />
