7.2 Grazing of Reclaimed Lands
No cattle grazing occurred on Trapper reclaimed lands during 1993, nor is grazing planned for 1994. The
resumption of cattle grazing in 1995 will be evaluated during the 1994 field season.
7.3 1994 Revegetation Seed Mixes
Section 3.6.3.5 of Trapper's Mining and Reclamation permit requires that the Division be notified of the
seed mixes proposed to be used in 1994 (Tables 1-1 through 1-7).
In an attempt to more fully utilize plant species which have performed well on our reclaimed sites,
Trapper has revised the following range site mixtures.
Range Site A (Table 1-1) and Range Site B (Table 1-2). Lewis flax and Silver sage were added to
both mixtures. The drill rate for Big Sagebrush was increased, while the rate for Blue Elderberry
was decreased. New Mexican Privet was removed from the Range Site A mix.
u
2. Range Site C (Table 1-3). Cicer milkvetch was added to the list.
3. Topsoil Stockpiles (Table 1-6). Thickspike wheatgrass, Big bluegrass and alfalfa have replaced Tall
wheatgrass, Slender wheatgrass, Kentucky bluegrass, U[ah sweetvetch and Fringed sage. The drill
rate for Mountain brome was increased.
4. Perennial Hay Crop (Table 1-7).
