used in these areas will favor the establishment and growth of these
• species. Once again it is emphatically stated that the diversity goal
given in this paragraph for previously disturbed areas reclaimed with
substitute soil reconstruction materials will not be considered as a
standard or requirement for phase III revegetation bond release. Rather,
the diversity goal is voluntarily included by P6M in this document, because
it provides a benchmark for reclamation of these previously disturbed
lands.
4.4.2.3 Riparian Standards
Initially two riparian areas were anticipated to be affected by
mining operations under this permit including the existing office and
tipple access road corridor crossing over Oak Creek, and the proposed water
withdrawal point on Trout Creek. The access road crossing over Oak Creek
has been designated as a permanent road for the post mining land use.
Therefore, a revegetation standard for this riparian site is no longer
required. The water withdrawal point on Trout Creek was reevaluated by
mine and Army Corps of Engineer personnel during the summer of 1990. Based
on that site visit the Trout Creek water withdrawal point was not
• disturbed, so a revegetation standard for this riparian site is no longer
required.
The remainder of the area associated with the existing lower office
is not in a riparian vegetation community. However, the area was disturbed
by mining before the 1980 regulatory program became effective. Therefore,
this previously disturbed area, like previously disturbed acreage on West
Ridge, is subject to the requirements of Rule 4.15.10 for the purposes of
establishing revegetation standards.
l J
Renewal-3 9.9-6 June 13, 1997
