Growth on Slopes - The capability of a plant to grow naturally on <br />gentle (0$ - 8$), moderate (9$ - 30$) or steep (32 + $) slopes. <br />E. Potential Biomass Production - The relative genetic ability of a <br />plant to produce plant material by weight on an annual basis compared <br />to other members of the same life form (a grass is rated against <br />other grasses, etc.). Species are rated as if growing on the sites <br />where they are typically found. <br />F. Erosion Control Potential - A plant which commonly exhibits growth <br />habit, plant structure, biomass and/or root system that has the <br />• potential to reduce soil erosion in Colorado. <br />G. Establishment Requirements - The relative extent of cultural <br />practices which must be employed to insure a successful planting of <br />the species on site to which it is adapted in Colorado. <br />1. High - Species requires elaborate or intensive cultural practices. <br />2. Medium - Species requires standard tillage practices or special <br />cultural practices of short duration. <br />3. Low - Species requires only minimal cultural practices. <br />H. Short-Term Revegetation Potential - The ability of a plant to become <br />established and persist over a period of 1 to 3 years (includes <br />annuals) in Colorado. (Based on growth, cover and reproduction). <br />• I.
