~, <br />2.04.8 Climatological Information <br />' (1) The application shall contain a statement of the climatological factors <br />that are representative of the proposed permit area, including: <br />(a) The mean monthly precipitation; <br />(b) The average direction and velocity of the prevailing winds; and <br />(c) Mean monthly temperature and termperature ranges. <br />(2) The Division may for good cause shown request additional climatologi- <br />cal data as deemed necessary to ensure compliance with the requirements <br />of 2.04.8. <br />(3) Permit applications may comply with these requirements regarding <br />seasonal variability of climatological factors without the collection of data <br />covering 12 consecutive months if accurate statistical procedures, approved <br />by months if accurate statistical procedures, approved by the Division, are <br />used to extrapolate from a data base covering a shorter period of time. <br />RESPONSE <br />' (1) (2) (3) Climatological Information gathered from the Hayden <br />weather station. <br />The climate of the mine area and surrounding vicinity is <br />• characteristic of semiarid steppe regions.
