Waldron <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Minerals & Geology <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re: Carrizo Stone LLC, Carrizo Stone North (File No. M-2006-024) (CHS #47540) <br />Dear Mr. Waldron: <br />This is to acknowledge receipt of your correspondence dated Mazch 8, 2006 (received by our office on <br />March 10) concerning the project listed above. <br />A search of the Colorado Cultural Resource Inventory indicated that one survey for cultural resources has <br />been conducted in the SE quarter of section 16 but no known cultural resource sites are located within the <br />proposed permit area. However, our files contain incomplete information for this area, as most of Colorado <br />has not yet been inventoried for cultural resources. There is the possibility that as yet unidentified cultural <br />resources exist within the permit area. <br />Should human remains be discovered during mining activities, the requirements under State law CRS 24-80 <br />part 13 apply and must be followed. <br />Please note that our review of your project is expedited when you indicate the extent of the proposed <br />permit area on a legible portion of the appropriate and clearly identified 7.5 minute USGS <br />topographic map. The map enclosed indicates only the approximate location of the subject property on a <br />map of much lazger scale. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
