STATE OF COLORADO •
Rlcherd D. Lamm, Governor
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
DIVISION OF WILDLIFE
Jack R. Grieb, Director
6060 Broadway
Denver, Colorado 80216 (8251192)
h"r. Keith Holsinger
P.O. Box 37
'.:ralden, Colorado 804B0
Dear Keith:
iii iiiiiiiiiiiii iii
April 5, 1Q80
This letter is in response to your request dated April 3, 1980, for an addendum
to be included with your material to the 2;ined land Reclamation Board.
After I reviewed your plan on March 30, 1980, I west to the proposed gravel pit
site for an on the ground evaluation. I?y findings are:
1. There are no rare or endangenered species inhabiting or using the site.
2. There is no critical wildlife habitat identified under HB 1041 on the
site.
3. The operation gill not effect the ::ichigan or Illinois Rivers and the
fisheries therein.
4. Species inhabiting the area are as you have listed, except sage grouse. I
do not believe sage grouse use the proposed site.
5. The tildlife inhabiting the area will not be adversely effected in any way.
6. I also found that your proposed reclamation to be more than adequate to restore
the area to a level which is equal to the habitat now available, It would be
beneficial if some $orbes like sweet clover could be planted along with your
other planned seeding during reclamation.
I hope this answers the questions you have as!ced and meets the requirements of the
i?ined Land Reclamation people.
If you have any further questions, contact me.
Cordially yours,
~~~~;~
John L.
