3. Groundwater/Alluvial Groundwater - Colowyo currently has two <br />groundwater monitoring wells completed within Streeter Fill, one <br />aliuvial well completed in the Goodspring Creek alluvium up- <br />stream from Streeter Fill, and one alluvial well completed in the <br />Goodspring Creek alluvium at the base of Streeter Fill. Colowyo <br />will conduct monitoring and sampling of the above four wells and <br />will install,'monitor, and sample an additional well adjacent to <br />Wilson Creek. The proposed well location is down gradient from <br />the Gossard Loadout and will be completed during the summer of <br />1983. Estimates indicate the free water zone will be at <br />seventeen feet. The proposed well location is shown on Water <br />Monitoring Sites For Permit No. C-019-81 (Map 37) and proposed <br />well completion is shown in Figure 1. <br />In accordance with the September 28, 1982 "Proposed <br />Decision and Findings of Compliance For The Colowyo Coal Company <br />Colowyo Mine", all of the wells will be sampled quarterly as <br />listed below. <br />uarterly Samolinq for: <br />a. Phosphate (POq-3as P) <br />j. Sodium (Na+) <br />k. Sulfate (SOq) <br />1. Arsenic (As) <br />m. Iron (Fe) <br />n. Lead (Pb) <br />o. Manganese (Mn) <br />p. Mercury (Hg) <br />q. Selenium (Se) <br />r. Zinc <br />s. Water Level <br />Colowyo looks forward to continued cooperation with M.L.R.D. and <br />will consult dith M. L. R. D., after the first annual report is submitted, in <br />efforts both tc evaluate the applicability of all parameters chosen and <br />frequency of monitoring in accordance with the September 28, 1982 "Proposed <br />Decision and Findings of Compliance For The Colowyo Coal Company Colowyo <br />Mine"; and identify any peculiar site specific conditions. <br />Upon receipt of the Divisions approval of the new portions of the <br />• above monitoring plans, Colowyo will implement the new provisions of the <br />plans. Since the new provisions were contemplated in the September 28, <br />4.05-13 <br />
