AmerAha, Inc MWD-2 Dnlhng and Completion Feport
[ODD) was installed and cemented to the surface on January 1 1.2000. Following installation of
the drilling assembly (air-hammer) and supporting surface eyuipmcnt. drilling of a lU-inch-
diameter hole began at about 1'_:UO on January l 1, 2000. Air mtst l3 to 5 gallons per minute
[gpm]) was used as a circulation medium. The injection water came tiom nearby ti'ellow Creek.
After intersecting the water table at approximately 255 feet, groundwater discharge
measurements wire taken periodically by Lang permnnel. Collection of groundwater
geochemical data by Daub & Associates, Inc., personnel began at I?80 feet and continued to the
bottom of the hole.
Because of signilicant groundwater flow (approximately 75 gpm). drilling of the 10-inch-
diamctcr hole wnh the atr-hammer assembly was suspended at 1.055 feet on January l2. 2000
(I $:OOj. The drill string was tripped out of the hale :md the air-hammer bit was replaced by a
9a-inch iricone bit. Drilling with the tricone assembly resumed at 08:00 on January 13. 2000,
and continued to the intermediate casing point (1,670 feet), which was reached at 17:30 on
January Id. 2000. Rotan• drill cuttings were described (~iable >) below I?95 feet and well-
water discharge samples collected below 1.280 feet were analyzed on-site (Table G) by personnel
from U:wb & :'associates, loc.
Prior to installing casing in the hole, the open hole was geophysically logged by Iialliburton. Inc.
(Vernal. )halt), from the surface in 1,670 feet. The instrument used was a Dual l.atemlog
(gamma ray, shallow resistivity. deep resistivity, deep conductivity, and surface tension) and
Spectral Density Dual Spend Veutron (gamma ray, caliper, neutron porosity, and density
porosity). Geophysical Ingging commenced at approximately 22:45 on January ly. 2000, ;md
concluded at 0>:OU on January 15, 2000. A copy of the lugs can be found in .Appendix A. To
date, ~ cement casing-bond log has not been run in the \taa'D-' well. 1-his work till be done at
a later time.
,_.' Following the logging. I ,670 feet of 5-inch OD casing (I $ pounds pcr foot) ryas installed and
cemented to the surface by the tremie method on January 1 ~ and I G, 2000.
